The county of Gloucestershire and the area bordering it boast many settlements of major importance including Cirencester, Gloucester and the remarkable collection of Cotswold villas at Chedworth and Woodchester. However, as this book illustrates, numerous smaller and lesser known Roman settlements were of importance to the whole landscape, both economically and socially.
