Meet Your Guide

Born in Tuffley Gloucester during the late 60’s, I have always been a proud Gloucester man.

Fascinated by history and in particular military history, Gloucester has much to offer and I soon became aware of the siege of our city after one lesson at Beaufort Comprehensive School in the mid 80’s - I was hooked!

After years of interest, I decided to start my own tours and have done so now for over ten years, taking thousand of people around the city showing the areas of importance during those four weeks in the summer of 1643 when Gloucester defied all logic and her people won against a then unstoppable Royalist army. A few years back I wrote my book “Gloucester the City that Defied a King” based on a real family in the city and actual events that occurred during that time.

Happily married, still living in Gloucester with one son and two grandchildren I am a family man but enjoy researching the siege and most of all passing on my knowledge during the tours on the events of 1643.
