In Conversation: Picturing Parenthood

Join us for this intimate conversation with documentary photographer Naomi Wood and artist Jocelyn Allen, who are both featured in The Royal Photographic Society’s International Photography 163  Exhibition.

Join Naomi and Jocelyn as they discuss the overlapping themes in their photographic practices and the therapeutic importance of self portraiture during the transition into motherhood.

There will be time for Q&A and your children and families are very much welcome to join you for the talk!

The exhibition and the museum will be open with family friendly activities and the shop and café will be open for attendees to purchase gifts and refreshments.

About our speakers…

Naomi Wood is a UK based documentary photographer who creates raw and intimate stories for brands and editorial.

Her personal work explores the camera’s ability to be used as a therapeutic tool and is also curator of the platform, Picturing Parenthood.

Jocelyn Allen is an artist who mainly works with photography, text/hashtags, dance, performance, and video.

Themes that she often explores within her work are hiding and revealing, body image, self-esteem, self-confidence, anxiety, pregnancy, and motherhood.
